2023 Florida Bat Working Group Annual Meeting
March 28-29, 2023
The FLBWG annual meeting will be held at Camp Weed Conference Center in Live Oak, Florida.
The working group meeting will be held over the course of 1.5 days (afternoon on March 28, full day on March 29). It will feature presentations on various bat-related subjects, our annual Working Group Business Meeting, and breakout sessions for committee meetings or topic discussions. Your attendance will help partners around the state learn about current bat conservation and management efforts in Florida, support science-based conservation of Florida’s bats, promote skill-building, and assist in networking with colleagues.
The 2023 agenda draft includes a plenary talk from John Flanders (Bat Conservation International),
"Threats, challenges, and sustainable strategies for bat conservation", a lot of great talks about bat research and projects happening in Florida, and evening networking around the campfire and SonoBatLIVE with John Chenger.
REGISTRATION
Register here for the 2023 annual meeting! The annual meeting registration fee is $20. Deadline is March 17th.
Everyone registering for the 2023 annual meeting will be added to the current FLBWG member list and considered members for the 2023 membership year (additional membership info can be found on our Get Involved page).*
*NOTE: Anyone wishing to attend the annual meeting and NOT become a FLBWG member, will be subject to a non-member meeting registration fee of $20. Please use the same registration link and "opt out" of membership.
LODGING AND MEALS
Lodging and meals will be available onsite. Please book directly on the Camp Weed application page; set up an account and login, then select "Fl Bat Working Group" from the list. Payment can be completed online or collected onsite at the venue (for tax exempt cards). Accommodations are for meeting attendees only.
Rooms are typical motel style with heat and air conditioning. Single and double occupancy rooms are available. We encourage double occupancy to ensure enough rooms are available for our group. You will need the name of your roommate at the time of application if choosing double occupancy (but you can register and pay individually).
Looking for a roommate? Email the Florida Bat Working Group Meeting committee and they can put you in contact with other attendees.
